Delving into the world of stories helped open up the hurt and closed doors of my soul. That is the power of universal truth and beauty. Our God and creator is the ultimate story teller, and he is weaving his magnum-opus through our lives, the lives of His image bearers. Excellent art, literature most of all, gives us a deep and often unparalleled look into the human condition- we find ourselves there, through the eyes of a thousand others.
Participating in the beauty of God's creation fills our souls with deep purpose and understanding. Stories matter. Our stories, even the ugly ones, define who we are and who we decide to be tomorrow.
Our stories matter.

My heart behind TABLEFOLK is to invite you to our table; to sit, and eat, and drink, and stay, and share, and be you. We are God's people and we are meant to walk this path together.
Motherhood is hard. Homeschooling is hard. But we don't have to be alone. Charlotte Mason speaks often of the idea of "Mother Culture", which is putting priority on spreading the feast for ourselves as well as our children.
And that is what I want for you and for me.
Homeschooling does not have to be overwhelming and complicated. It can be simple and beautiful. It can and should provide the building blocks for a life-long love of learning. Let us remember that we are their mother first, their friend second, and their guide third.
Give them beauty.
Give them meaning.

You are welcome at our table.
